Volunteer Application Form

Thank you for enquiring and taking interest in becoming a volunteer at Face of Yahweh Development Spiritual Home and Rehabilitation Centre. Please note that although we value volunteers, it may take some time to be actively involved, as we are still in the ground-breaking phase. We need to put the interests in the beneficiaries in our care first, and thus we need to limit the number of people coming through the shelter to some extent.

What skills, training or talents do you have that could benefit Face of Yahweh Spiritual Home and Rehabilitation Centre?

Have you had any previous experience? If yes, please state any previous organization and briefly state your involvement.

What is your motivation for wanting to do volunteer work at Face of Yahweh Development Spiritual Home and Rehabilitation Centre?

What do you believe you have to offer the vulnerable women, youth, orphans and the elderly in our shelter?

In order to be a volunteer it is extremely important that you have your family’s support. Does your spouse and/or family support your involvement?

How long are you committed to volunteering at Face of Yahweh Development Spiritual Home and Rehabilitation Centre? Note: The period should not exceed two years

How many hours are you willing to give to the shelter per week?

What times are you available to volunteer?

Meetings will occasionally be held to discuss issues relevant to volunteering at the shelter. Will you be willing to attend such meetings?

Some of the people in our care are HIV positive. Have you had any training in regard to HIV/AIDS?

Do you need to have additional information before volunteering?

Working as a volunteer can be both rewarding and heart-breaking! Face of Yahweh Development Spiritual Home and Rehabilitation Centre aims to place back as many people to the community as quickly as possible. It may happen that you become attached to a particular beneficiary or a number of beneficiaries, and then they have to be placed elsewhere. © Face of Yahweh Development Spiritual Home and Rehabilitation Centre Page 1 of 4 While you may be happy for them, it may still be a loss to you. Having HIV-infected people at the shelter, we may also be confronted with death. Please think about how you cope with loss, as at some point you may be faced with it while volunteering.
